    Great Detail, Several Small Parts

Posted by Mark on 3rd Nov 2018

The Good: This is a great model of the Alouette III, It comes with a very handy reference sheet for the placement of the various components. Everything is very high quality, with great detail on the fuselage. Even with paint, elements are clear and easy to see. The Bad: My main complaint is a thin mold line running along the fuselage and tail, though this is easy enough to correct with a fine file. The Ugly: In addition to the main rotor (which comes in two parts and must be assembled), there are several additional tiny etched brass parts including a tail rotor (each set comes with a spare, which is nice), a small tail guard (no spares, easy to lose, use care), and two small struts for use with the main landing gear (again, no spares, use care with these very small parts). In addition to the small brass parts, the main landing gear are also a small pewter part, and there may or may not be a spare in the kit (I had two, kits, one with a spare, one without). Bring your tweezers!
