This is one huge solid chunk of resin. Well, its like 6 main pieces and a few details. Its huge, has decent detail, and is a great representation of the frigate. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars as the lower 3 hulls that glue to the bottom of the main chunk all came out about .25" too far, so would need filed off. ****Note from GameCraft: I've written the customer on this matter to see what happened. As far as I know, this is impossible as the molds cannot change shape/length over time. When I get to the bottom of this issue I'll post a note on the product page**** Also, the mast is in matboard, and I would rather have seen it in brass (its just a little business card sized piece of paper). Still though, how many 1/285 ship models are out there??? Sure wish we could get some more 1/285 options. Things like the big soviet hovercraft, various small gunboats or smaller frigates that could actually end up firing off some rounds in a 1/285 microarmor battle would be pretty nifty. I primed mine gray, and it actually looked pretty good. Add a bit of weathering, paint the windows and a few minor details, then get a decal set for the back deck and you are set! Actually, a decal set for the back deck would have been nice too.
This was a VERY chunk block of resin. I guess I had assumed it would be hollow, but its *SOLID*. I saw no flashing, and it seems to go together good enough. Its a stupid ship IMO, but its great having a 1/285 naval ship to throw into some scenarios. It would have been nice if the twin 30mm turrets would have been thrown in, but they aren't on the LCS today so I guess its ok. Its a very short on detail ship, so the resin version isn't much different, but its a good representation. It comes with a pack with the metal railing, which is cool. Good model overall, worth the price and I'm very happy with my purchase. I'd love to see some other 1/285 ships though, small frigates/gunboats/hovercraft/hydrofoils would be really nice.
